Andreah Summers considers FSES her second home, entering her 15th year there. She has developed deep meaningful relationships that have allowed her to see her students blossom over the years some graduating from local high schools. She lives by the motto:  “[Students] don’t remember what you try to teach them.  They remember what you are.” – Jim Henson. With that, the relationships she forms with her students are monumental.

Helping students develop a love of learning is Ms. Summers’ philosophy. She finds new, creative ways to make learning meaningful and engaging for her students, allowing them to make personal connections to what they learn. Students are motivated to keep learning because Ms. Summers strives to create the feeling that learning is fun!

Ms. Summers graduated with her B.S in Elementary Education from the University of West Georgia. She boasts that she cannot be expected to teach if she is not willing to learn, so she continues to take courses to stay abreast with best practices and broaden her repertoire.  She recently acquired her gifted endorsement to enhance her craft and meet a wider range of learners.

During her near 15 years at FSES, she has worn many hats.  Ms. Summers has served as a 21st Century Tutor, is the current Webmaster, and has served as Team Chairperson.  Ms. Summers volunteers yearly for the yearbook committee, media committee, serves as the Step Team assistant coach and has produced the school’s newsletter. Ms. Summers enjoys doing all she can to support FSES.
