Hannah Siler, LEAP (Learning and Early Assessment for Preschool) Teacher at Factory Shoals Elementary School, received a Douglas County Education Foundation Classroom Impact Grant to complement LEAP’s “Read It Once Again” curriculum. The curriculum is designed to engage parents in the instructional process and foster communication between home and school. Ms. Siler used grant funds to purchase literacy bags for her students. These bags travel to and from school, providing a copy of the story read each month and corresponding activities from the curriculum for parents and children to work on together.
