Meet our 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Shontal Greer
My motto has always been to “Bloom Where You Are Planted” simply put, blossom wherever life takes you, and no matter the circumstances - thrive to do your best. Always keeping this in mind has helped me to grow as an educator inside and outside of the classroom. This motto is also embedded in my students from the day that they enter my classroom along with working hard, speaking and thinking positively, and doing their best. At the end of the day, we never make excuses, we make it happen in the space we are in.
I am a 21-year educator where I currently teach 5th grade ELA/SS, lead the 5th grade team, and serve as the Building Lead Mentor for new teachers at Factory Shoals Elementary. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English; my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction; and my EdS in Teacher Leadership. During this time, I also received my Leadership certification. Personally, I enjoy traveling, watching tv, and creating memories with my family and friends. I am a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. With that being said, I am honored to be FSES 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year.
