Mrs. Tina Henry
FSES 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year
Being named Teacher of the Year is an incredible honor, but the real joy comes from the everyday moments—seeing students grasp a new concept, take pride in their work, or step into their confidence. For me, success isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present, putting in the work, and showing up with purpose every single day.
Teaching is more than a career for me—it’s part of my legacy. I come from a line of strong, passionate educators—my mother and grandmother both devoted their lives to teaching. Watching their impact shaped my path and planted the seeds for how I lead, love, and serve in the classroom today.
With 17 years of classroom experience, I currently teach 3rd-grade math at Factory Shoals Elementary, where I also serve as 3rd-grade team Lead and Co-Director of the 21st CCLC Afterschool Program. I’ve made it my mission to bring structure, clarity, and connection into every lesson.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Tuskegee University, and my years in the classroom have only strengthened my belief that strong relationships, steady routines, and real-world learning are the heart of good teaching. I create a classroom where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow through what they go through.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and children, relaxing with a good show, and making memories with the people who matter most. I’m also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and I carry the values of service, sisterhood, and excellence into everything I do.
