I am deeply honored to be named Teacher of the Year for the 2026–2027 school year. My journey in education has been both meaningful and ever-evolving, and I am incredibly proud of it. I began my career as a special education teacher, driven by a desire to serve and support students with exceptionalities. That foundation shaped me into the educator I am today and continues to influence how I approach every student I teach.
I have a deep passion for building relationships and creating lasting memories with my students and their families. I believe in setting high expectations for all learners while fostering a warm, nurturing, and supportive environment where every child can thrive and achieve. Over the past seven years, I have remained committed to growing in my craft. I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education (General Curriculum), am certified in Elementary Education, and have earned a specialist degree in Instructional Technology. I am constantly seeking new and innovative ways to better serve the students and community I am privileged to be a part of.
In addition to this honor, I proudly serve as the fifth-grade team lead, co-captain of the FSES Dynamic Dolphin Step Team, and co-sponsor of our Beta Club. Each of these roles allows me to connect with students in meaningful ways beyond the classroom and contribute to a positive and engaging school culture.
Outside of school, I am a devoted wife and mother of two. I come from a large, close-knit family with six brothers and three sisters, and family is at the center of everything I do. Whether it’s a beach vacation or a simple movie night at home, I cherish every opportunity to create special memories with my loved ones.
At the heart of it all, my purpose remains the same: to inspire, uplift, and empower every student I encounter. Being an educator is not just what I do; it is who I am. I am excited to continue growing, learning, and making a lasting impact in the lives of my students, my school, and my community.
